MaslenI was favourable with my purcase of the Astron CP9580 UNTIL I tried to do the setup which would allow the AutoScanner With the addition of CP9580 to upload the units memory results to my PC and print them. I have an intermitent MIL and I poverty to keep a hard copy of the data for several weeks. The problem with the CP9580 occurred when I tried to institute the PC drivers that come with their Scanning Suite 3.0. software which I had downloaded from the Actron (SPX Corp) web location. Installing the software driver enables the CP9580 to communicate with a PC via the USB chain provided with the unit. Communication with a PC is also a function necessary to perform on-lead updates for the CP9580's internal database. M/S Windows XP Pro (SP3) did not recognize the drivers. I did for ever coax Windows to install a generic USB/COM port driver but this driver did not line either. I am familiar with PCs and drivers thru my profession and this installing procedure is not rocket technique when you have the correct driver. I...

Hi, I skim just about every reveiw I could find on OBDll scanners. I was ready to buy the Innova 3160, but didn't like the part about charging $14.99 for service info. Then I got a email for a discount on the Actron 9580, very good behave or call me cheap. So I bought the Actron 9580 with code connect with the software problems per every procession I had read, but before I bought it I called Actron Tech support and was told that their was no quandary. Well after about three hours of trying to down load their Actron Launch Pad with no luck, their is an consequence. Then I find out that if their is not a Code Connect answer to the given code they charge you for the answerable for. The scanner has worked fine on every car I have used it on, and is easy to use. Hopefuly they will get the software outflow fixed so you can update your scanner and print out the info from the scanner. But for the compensatory of a few bucks I wish I would have gone with The Innova 3160 for about fifty more dollars.
Kindest DIY Scanner on the Market
After looking at scanners for several years, I definitely decided to buy this one because it seemed to have the most usable features (including live data, graphing, recording, etc.) and also had the unmatched "Code Connect" feature for reporting the most likely fixes that exertion for specific makes and models based on a large reported & verified servicing database. I was not disappointed. So far, the "top reported fixes" for the detected trouble codes and mechanism model have been the ones which really worked on my own car and on friends' cars that I repaired. Although some reviewers seek that the Code Connect may not work well for certain car models which had very limited manufacturing numbers, it worked well for my repairs which included a Toyota Echo which was not a very simple model. Despite the fact that Code Connect is usually preferred on target with its fixes, a few of the fixes that come up would almost never work and look rather asinine and unrelated to the trouble codes. Very fruitful if you have the right vehiclesThe 3160 is a very expedient tool if you have the right vehicle. It provides generic codes and more from many makes but on European, Korean or Swedish vehicles dont watch much more than the generic codes. I did not research tool enough to realize all but all of the "adavanced DTC" functions are for Chrysler/Jeep, Ford/Mazda,GM/Isuzu, Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus vehicles only. The sales verbiage DOES legitimate the limitations of the ABS testing to certain makes/models but DOES NOT lay down the information that the tools enchanced DTC functions share the same vehicle limitations. The enchanced functions are described in the owners handbook as: "The "enhanced" mode provides the ability to retrieve enhanced DTCs from most Chrysler/Jeep, Ford/Mazda,GM/Isuzu, Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus vehicles. I was overused of the cheap OBD readers and wanted something much better. I also wanted something I could read the ABS system with. The Innova 3160 does the deed. It is easy to use and understand. I like the way it prompts you in order to get what you are looking for. It has an super screen with the exact information you need to make repairs. It is manifest that they consulted with a repair tech when they designed it. I haven't tried to up-companion it from the computer as yet, but it has all the necessary items and information with it to do so. On the down side, it doesn't have an explanation for all the manufacturer codes, signally the ABS codes. I found that I am going to their web site quite often to get the expanation. The web-site is very consumable and helpful though. I really like it. The worst thing is the CHEAP haulage case. The unit won't even fit into it with the cable attached. What do cats have to do with cryptogram scanners? In my case, cats crawled under the hood of my 2007 Silverado Deathless pickup and kept the engine filthy. They also pulled at various wires under the hood. Those two things promise problems for any vehicle, but acutely for my Silverado - as I had to repeatedly wash the guano away the cats left under the hood. The Silverado 4.8 mechanism for 2007 has knock sensors in the intake valley, and engine washing causes tap water to damage them by puddling under the intake. With only 6,000 miles in four years, my mechanism light came on. Turns out the knock sensor problem with the finest is common. I just wouldn't have had it sans the cats. I went to my particular Auto Zone and they kindly used a scan tool to diagnose a question with the #2 bank knock sensor (rear - low output) cryptogram P0332.
