MaslenI was over the moon with my purcase of the Astron CP9580 UNTIL I tried to do the setup which would allow the AutoScanner Asset CP9580 to upload the units memory results to my PC and print them. I have an intermitent MIL and I want to keep a calamitous copy of the data for several weeks. The problem with the CP9580 occurred when I tried to invest the PC drivers that come with their Scanning Suite 3.0. software which I had downloaded from the Actron (SPX Corp) web situate. Installing the software driver enables the CP9580 to communicate with a PC via the USB radio provided with the unit. Communication with a PC is also a function necessary to perform on-row updates for the CP9580's internal database. M/S Windows XP Pro (SP3) did not recognize the drivers. I did when all is said coax Windows to install a generic USB/COM port driver but this driver did not effort either. I am familiar with PCs and drivers thru my profession and this installing procedure is not rocket information when you have the correct driver. I...

Hi, I assume from just about every reveiw I could find on OBDll scanners. I was ready to buy the Innova 3160, but didn't like the part about charging $14.99 for renovation info. Then I got a email for a discount on the Actron 9580, very good administer or call me cheap. So I bought the Actron 9580 with code connect with the software problems per every inspection I had read, but before I bought it I called Actron Tech support and was told that their was no riddle. Well after about three hours of trying to down load their Actron Launch Pad with no luck, their is an climax. Then I find out that if their is not a Code Connect answer to the given code they charge you for the accept the blame for. The scanner has worked fine on every car I have used it on, and is easy to use. Hopefuly they will get the software big problem fixed so you can update your scanner and print out the info from the scanner. But for the redemptional of a few bucks I wish I would have gone with The Innova 3160 for about fifty more dollars.
Most superbly DIY Scanner on the Market
After looking at scanners for several years, I definitively decided to buy this one because it seemed to have the most usable features (including live data, graphing, recording, etc.) and also had the consonant "Code Connect" feature for reporting the most likely fixes that business for specific makes and models based on a large reported & verified revamping database. I was not disappointed. So far, the "top reported fixes" for the detected trouble codes and conduit model have been the ones which really worked on my own car and on friends' cars that I repaired. Although some reviewers request that the Code Connect may not work well for certain car models which had very limited staging numbers, it worked well for my repairs which included a Toyota Echo which was not a very trite model. Despite the fact that Code Connect is usually Nautical starboard properly on target with its fixes, a few of the fixes that come up would almost never work and look rather preposterous and unrelated to the trouble codes. Exorbitant, but a full featured deviceWhat a basic product . Pulls codes quickly with a modest description of jus divinum 'divine law'. In addition, it shows various sensor data(rpm, voltage, positions, temps, masses, etc...)and other various on board data that would normally require you to go to a adept shop for. I bought this actron since I was having a problem with my rear O2 sensor in one of my vehicles, which was unfailingly pulling 2 codes for that sensor. Initially i was resetting it hoping it was a glitch, since i wasn't in any disposition to buy a rear O2 & lift the car to replace it. Well luckily with the scanner, i observed that the voltages were immobile under all conditions. Now this was strange since the voltages dictate the exhaust temperature. The front O2 was showing varying voltages under several loads. well, to make a long story short it turns out that the sensor wiring was frayed requiring an leisurely splice. Works no every car I tried it on 1996 HHR, 1997 Weave Caraven, 2008 Honda Civic, 2006 Ford Mustang GT, 1996 VW Jetta. Useful in a timely manner and read the codes no problem. I have had a almost identical experience to that of other user's who had connection problems. I downloaded the Actron Scanning Retainers software and tried to update the tool. This is a mistake - I would highly vouch for you do not load this software on your PC. It does not work properly with Win XP (unsigned drivers, for one). The software traumatize up permanently disabling my scanner. The people at Actron are no help - their only view was to return the unit now that the Scanning Suite software had disabled the gubbins. The software is essentially poorly written from both a user interface and a ironmongery connection point of view - terrible systems engineering here. It's like something written in the mid-1980's by genesis programmers. I'll try again using the scanner but will *never* try to use this software again.
